This past weekend

So, it's been almost a month unemployed and I haven't had much luck getting anybody to care about my resume. It's time to start getting off my butt. I stopped by the hospital and put in an application to volunteer. You know, in college I was in APhiO for three years and really enjoyed helping out, but since then, three years later, I haven't done diddly squat. That's really depressing. The woman to talk to wasn't there, but I left an application and hopefully will get a call tomorrow. I don't know what I'd be doing, but it doesn't really matter. I just want something that will get me out of the house 2-3 times a week. And when I get a new job, hopefully I can switch it to 1-2 times a month on weekends without too much of a problem. I just feel so pathetic sleeping in late, spending every day in front of the computer, emailing my resume, and playing computer games. The break was fun, I guess, but I feel like I can do more with my life.
In other news, we just came back from Cape Cod last night. My oldest friend (since Sophomore year of HS) got married. I was a groomsman for the first time. I had to wear a gray tux with striped pants. You know, you don't really see all that much when you're standing up there. It's not as good a view as you'd think it would be. But, she got married to a real nice guy, which is great since she was always one of those people with bad luck with men.
I've known her for ten years. J. and I met up with her in Europe my junior year. I went to both Junior and Senior prom with her. Over the years, we've grown pretty far apart. We're very different people and I doubt that in any other circumstances we would hang out together. It's sad when people you used to be very close to seem so very distant. Hopefully, we'll keep in contact even so. She's still a great person and we still get along. I can't believe she just got married. Wow. It made me feel how the years slip past you without noticing.
Cape Cod was fun. We got to do some geocaching, taking our GPS on wild goose chase hunts around the Cape. We found one in some rocks right by the bay. It was near a big Windmill. It was a good thing it was low tide otherwise it might have been difficult to get to. Another one was off a nature trail underneath a pine that looked like an x-mas tree. A good way to get to see places that you normally wouldn't.
We also drove up to Plymouth on Saturday to visit one of J.'s bridesmaids. We saw the rock, and yes, it was just a rock. It's hard to get excited about these kind of historical things anymore. Maybe when/if we have kids, it'll be more fun to watch them get to experience these things for the first time. We also went to a Pilgrim museum. While we were there, there was a horrific racket from outside. Would you believe that huge parade of motorcycles went by? It much have been hundreds. I guess it was some kind of event because there were cops on all sides and following behind. It was really amazing, and loud. Unfortunately, they were almost done by the time that I remembered that I had a camera with me, so I only got a few pictures.
Other than that, life is quiet. We need to start working on the wedding again. There's still a lot to be done.
