Not much to report, which is why I haven't posted much in the last week. For you loyal readers (all 2(?) of you), I guess I'll do my best.
1. Job Hunt
Have a half-day series of interviews with the same company that I've already talked to twice before. This is a good thing(tm) and I'm really hoping that this works out. My current contract is going well, but there's not much more work to do. If luck is in my favor, then this contract will end almost exactly when this new job wants me to start. If luck holds out. It's strange to be unemployed but working,
2. Wedding
Let's see, most of the big stuff is done. Tuxedoes are ordered, music is mostly picked, and the response cards are slowly coming in. The stress level is pretty low, and I'm not too worried. People keep asking me if I'm nervous. It's a strange question. I'm not too sure what they mean. I'm not nervous about my part. It's not like a play where I might forget my lines. I know that all I have to do is answer "I Do" whenever anybody asks me a question. I think I can do that without tripping over my own tongue too much. I'm not nervous about the marriage part that comes after, We've been living together for 18 months and so far, so good. I think we'll be able to figure things out as they come along. I'm not nervous about all the big party that we've planned. I think we've picked good vendors and if a few things don't work out the way we think they should, we'll survive. There's a lot that needs to go wrong for the wedding day to really be screwed up. So, no, I'm not nervous. I'm excited and looking forward to everything that comes next. Does that make me a bad person?
3. Cat
Buster's a fun little cat. He's a little skittish, and a little clumsy, but he's energetic and friendly and cute. I'm hoping we're not suddenly going to see a poster for "Lost Cat". It's just that I can't believe that somebody abandoned such a perfect pet. Some people don't know when they've got a good thing. Our biggest problem with him is getting his ear medicine into him. He really doesn't like that much. I've got the claw marks to prove it.
4. Bowling
The summer session of my bowling league ended last night. My team came in second place. We made $30 each. Not exactly a fortune, but it's a nice bonus. I had a lot of fun, and I improved my average by about 15 pins over the course of 11 weeks. Next week is the first session of the fall league. I'm going to be bowling with mostly the same team I played with this summer.
5. House
We did some house cleaning yesterday. J. is on this no TV, no computer kick. She thinks it will make us more productive and better people. She's probably right. But, I don't give up my addictions easily. Especially not with the Farscape season finale this Friday. Anyway, we cleaned up the office so it looks presentable. Of course, don't open the closet. And we finally put a lot of our pictures into albums. Everything from graduation to present day. Three years of life captured on film. I guess we're just immune to memory lane syndrome because it didn't take us too long.
