Two games.
First game, I got a 191. Yay! I had the top score over everyone. The closest was 189. He could have beat me, but didn't quite make it.
Second game, I got a 114, which is not quite as good. It would have been 124, but the Strike that I got on the last ball of the last frame was a foul because my foot slipped slightly over the line. Doh! Oh, well, I'm still happy about the 191. It's one of my best games ever.
So, I was surprised to find that most people bowled pretty good. Usually, in large group games like this, there are one or two good bowlers and everyone else can barely top 50. Today mostly everyone bowled over 100, except for two or three people, and there were quite a few 130-160 games. It's so much more fun when everyone knows what they're doing. I bowl for the fun of it, but it's nice when there's some real competition involved.
I signed up for a summer bowling league on Sunday nights. I've bowled in a league before, when I first got to Austin, although it's been about a year and half. I'm glad that I've decided to get back into it. I probably won't know anybody on my team, but that's ok. It's a good way to meet people. I'm halfway decent, but nothing special. The 191 was a fluke, I think. Hopefully, it won't upset my new teammates too much when they find out I'm just an ok bowler. I do it because I enjoy it.
